The School of Social Work will host a film screening and panel discussion of the documentary "Paper Tigers" Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Mountainlair Student Union's Gluck Theatre. "Paper Tigers" follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families.
The panel will feature area practitioners specializing in trauma-informed care. Information on the Adverse Childhood Experiences study implemented at the school and community resources will also be available.
