The Center for Innovation in Gas Research and Utilization will hold its second annual showcase event Dec. 4, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The public and WVU community are invited to attend this free event.
This year’s topic is sustainable economic and community development. The event will feature a panel discussion on how West Virginia can harness the latest developments in gas utilization to improve long-term prosperity in the state.
Welcoming remarks will be delivered by WVU Provost Joyce McConnell, Gene Cilento, Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and CIGRU Director John Hu.
Glynis Board, assistant news director of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, will moderate the panel. Panelists include:

Fred King, vice president for research, WVU Research Office
Evan Hansen, president, Downstream Strategies
James Owrey, business development manager, WV Development Office
James Wood, WVU Energy Institute
CIGRU is an interdisciplinary team of leading gas utilization researchers that aims to stimulate the economic development in West Virginia, the Appalachian region and across the globe through technical innovation, knowledge creation, support to policy makers and educational excellence.
