A revised Student Conduct Code for the Main Campus of West Virginia University was approved by Dean of Students Corey Farris effective Oct. 17, 2018.
The code still applies to all West Virginia University students from the date of acceptance through the date of graduation.
Changes to the code:
A charge that covers “Deceptive Organizational Practices” which applies to the conduct of organizations who are not approved by the Division of Student Life has been added.
The procedure for handling student conduct remains the same; however, when cases proceed to a hearing, the hearings will now be held in front of a single hearing adjudicator instead of a hearing panel.
Students and student organizations will still be able to appeal any decisions rendered by the adjudicator.
Input was received from students prior to approval.
Faculty, and Staff can review the updated code in its entirety on the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities’s website.
Any questions should be directed to Carrie Showalter, Executive Director of the Office of Student conduct 304.293.8111 or carrie.showalter@mail.wvu.edu.
