The Art Museum of WVU announces the second installment of its Lunchtime Looks series for the 2018-19 academic year. Lunchtime Looks is an opportunity for WVU students, faculty and staff, and the general public to learn more about the art and exhibitions on display at the Museum and to meet other art enthusiasts in the area.
The subject of this month’s presentation is Arturo Herrerra’s Tale and the presenter will be Robert Bridges, the museum’s curator. Herrera’s piece is a lithograph on Japanese paper. The artist’s scrawling, loopy drawing style balances between recognizable shapes and pure abstraction leading the viewer through a maze of discovery.
Bridges will help to facilitate this discovery in his talk, Thursday (Oct. 4) beginning at 12:20 p.m. in the Art Museum’s McGee Gallery. Afterwards, audience members will have a chance to ask questions, and the Museum galleries will be open for further exploration.
Prior to the talk, all are invited to bring a brown-bag lunch to the Museum Education Center Grand Hall at noon. to converse with Bridges, museum staff and fellow museum-goers as they enjoy their midday meal.
The session will end by 1 p.m., for those who need to get back to their offices. Anyone who can’t get away for lunch is welcome to meet the group in the museum at 12:20 p.m. for just the presentation.
The Art Museum and Museum Education Center are located near the corner of Patteson Drive and Morrill Way at the Evansdale Campus North Entrance.
Parking is available in short-term lots ST-1 and ST-9, with pay stations, one located near Patteson Drive and the other near the new Evansdale Crossing building.
