The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting a workshop titled “The West Virginia Green Zone: Conversations on what it means to be ‘Veteran Friendly.’” Thomas Sura, assistant professor of English, will present the workshop will be offered Aug. 30, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Laurel Room of the Mountainlair.
The West Virginia Green Zone is a grassroots effort created by former Army Sergeant and WVU Alumnus Howard Davidson to prepare students, faculty, and staff to work effectively with student veterans. This workshop will combine academic research with first-person testimonials of student veterans to create opportunities for examining teaching practices and what it means to be “veteran friendly.”
