Singers from the West Virginia Community Choir, Fairmont State University Community Chorus and invited singers from throughout the state will join together Sunday (July 1) at 5 p.m.,for a performance of the Mozart Requiem. The concert will take place at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Morgantown and entry is free.
The directors from each featured university choral program, Dr. Kym Scott and Dr. Sam Spears, will conduct the choir. John Morrison will be on the organ and the soloists will be Julia Pinn, Sarah Nale, John Heiserman and Joseph Browning.
“The Mozart Requiem, famously left unfinished at the time of his death, is one of the great masterworks,” says WVU’s Director of Choral Activities, Kym Scott. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the West Virginia public to hear this wonderful work, and the acoustics of the church will help bring the music to life.”
