First deduction holiday pay on March 30

The Woodburn Hall clock tower.

The March 30 paycheck will be a third paycheck in the month of March for WVU employees. For a 12-month benefits eligible employee, this will be considered a “deduction holiday pay.” For less-than-12-month benefit eligible employees, the deduction holiday occurs on their first and last pay.

This is the first “deduction holiday pay” for WVU 12-month benefit eligible employees since the implementation of bi-weekly pay in Oct. 2017. No benefit deductions will be withheld (only mandatory taxes and retirement deductions).

Deductions occurring from the “deduction holiday pay” will include:

  • Federal Taxes

  • State Taxes

  • Social Security

  • Medicare

  • Retirement

  • Supplemental Retirements

A 2018 pay calendar and schedule can be found on the Pay Changes website.
