The West Virginia University Symphony Orchestra will perform its annual Young Artists Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (March 22).
The Young Artists Concert spotlights four musicians that won the feature opportunity through a WVU School of Music Competition.
"Our winners are four from among a remarkable pool of talent in WVU's School of Music," said Mitchell Arnold, director of orchestral activities. "This concert marks the end of a long process of practice, preliminary rounds and rehearsal."
The featured musicians are Hsing-Yi Tsai, piano; Jacob Bumgarner, piano; Emily Ilyes, violin; and Yiwen Zhang, piano.

Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor
Hsing-Yi Tsai, piano
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 1 in Db Major
Jacob Bumgarner, piano
Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor
Yiwen Zhang, piano
Corigliano Red Violin: Chaconne
Emily Ilyes, violin
"It is always a great experience for our fine orchestra to collaborate with these young artists," Arnold said. "This music is thrilling for all of us. It is rewarding to work together to bring our audience such an exciting concert."
