Dress in blue Friday to raise colorectal cancer awareness

Cancer Institute group photo where everyone is wearing blue.

The Cancer Institute invites faculty, staff and students to participate in a "Dress in Blue Day" photo shoot  at 11 a.m. Friday (March 2) at the HSC Pylons. Join the Institute’s Cancer Prevention and Control as it seeks to promote regular colorectal cancer screening in observance of Colorectal Cancer Awareness month.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in West Virginia among men and women. While colon cancer is a significant problem, it does not have to be. If men and women aged 50 and older are regularly screened for colorectal cancer, at least 60 percent of deaths from this disease could be avoided.
