Renee Nicholson seeks to illuminate how engagement in the arts helps us access the stories of illness by patients, clinicians, caregivers, and others in ways that fortifies medicine in creative and humanistic ways Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center Fukushima Auditorium. Nicholson, an assistant professor in multidisciplinary studies, is a 2017-18 Honors College Faculty Fellow. She is teaching a class for honors students on medicine and the arts that emphasizes narrative medicine approaches to health within Appalachia. The event is open to the public.
