Preventing slips, trips and falls this winter season

Winter on campus

Winter has arrived and the freezing temperatures and snow may create slippery walking surfaces on WVU campus. Environmental Health and Safety encourages all students, faculty, staff and visitors to wear the appropriate footwear and be watchful to areas that could create a slip of fall hazard. For the safety of all, we encourage you to read, and share these Winter tip sheets for injury prevention, awareness, and guidance. Winter Slips Trips and Falls Prevention and How to Walk on Ice.

In addition, we encourage all persons who may work with or on ladders to follow and share the safety information provided on this tip sheet Ladder Safety Tips to reduce incidents and injuries to persons on campus. Should you have questions or concerns, visit [ehs.wvu.edu]ehs.wvu.edu or complete a request for our team to assist you with your Environmental Health or Safety needs at EHS request for service.
