Chris Schimmel of the Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling and Counseling Psychology was selected as the 2017 West Virginia School Counselor Educator of the Year by the West Virginia School Counselor Educator Association, a division of the American School Counseling Association. The award recognizes one outstanding school counselor educator for student mentorship and contributions to the field. Schimmel received the recognition at the West Virginia School Counselor Education Association’s annual conference in Charleston.
