National columnist Mark Oppenheimer talks about free speech and dangers of social media

Pi Lambda Phi’s Jewish Studies Lectureship series will present two talks Oct. by Mark Oppenheimer, a national op-ed columnist for The Los Angeles Times and the former writer for the Beliefs column in the New York Times, Oct. 18. Oppenheimer, who is an editor-at-large for Tablet magazine and the author of three books, currently directs the Yale Journalism Initiative. He will give a talk about “Free Speech: An Absolutist Defense” at 3 p.m.  and a second talk about “Minority Journalists and the Dangers of Social Media” at 6 p.m. Both talks will be held in the Milano Reading Room of the Wise Library downtown.
