The University community is invited to celebrate the opening of the WVU Center for the Future of Land-Grant Education Thursday (Sept. 28) at 4 p.m. in the Erickson Alumni Center. The event includes "The Future of Land-Grant Education Panel," with opening remarks by President Gee and insights from higher education experts Steven Gavazzi, dean and director of Ohio State-Mansfield; Roger L. Geiger, professor emeritus and head of the higher education program at Pennsylvania State University; and William Doyle, associate professor of public policy and higher education at Vanderbilt University. The scholars will discuss the evolution of the relationship between land-grant institutions and the public and evaluate what lies ahead for these institutions. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the panel.
