Students and faculty in the College of Creative Arts perform and exhibit at more than 300 events per year in many venues across campus, Morgantown and the state. Lunchtime Looks: Erik Herron
Noon, Sept. 27
Erik Herron, Eberly Family Professor of Political Science at West Virginia University, will present during the Art Museum of WVU’s Lunchtime Looks program Wednesday, Sept. 27. Herron will present on “Shepard Fairey: Work Against the Clampdown,” one of two exhibitions currently on display at the museum.
Theatre Productions
Sept. 21 – Oct. 1
The School of Theatre and Dance kicks off its mainstage season with two rotating productions Sept. 21 – Oct. 1. Tickets for “Topdog/Underdog” and “Exit, Pursued by a Bear” are available at ticketmaster.com.
Symphony Orchestra Concert
7:30 p.m. Sept. 28
The West Virginia University Symphony Orchestra begins its season at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Creative Arts Center. An award-winning ensemble comprised of students in WVU’s School of Music, WVUSO will feature Beethoven’s famous Symphony No. 5 in C Minor.
Jazz Thursdays at Morgantown Brewing Co.
Thursdays at 9 p.m.
Students from the Jazz program will be providing free live entertainment every Thursday during the semester at the Morgantown Brewing Co., on Beechurst Avenue, downtown Morgantown.
Guest Artist: Olympus Piano Trio

Mesaros Galleries: Charles Beneke and Kent Anderson Butler
Noon to 9 p.m. Monday – Saturday
The Mesaros Galleries kicks off the fall semester with two new exhibits: Charles Beneke: In Absence of Reason (printmaker) and Kent Anderson Butler: A Time to Heal (video and performance artist). The Mesaros Galleries are located in the lobby of the Creative Arts Center.
Art Museum of WVU
12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday
The Art Museum of WVU boasts two galleries currently running exhibitions.
"Impulse: A Trip Inside" features works from the WVU Collection. "Shepard Fairey: Work Against the Clampdown" highlights Shepard Fairey, an American contemporary street artist and founder of OBEY Clothing. You may recognize his name from the 2008 Presidential election - Fairey created the Barack Obama "Hope" poster.
