Philosophy Professor David Cerbone led a session on radical hopelessness at the 2017 Faith, Hope and Love as Virtues in Modernity Conference. Held in London June 23-24, the conference discussed how faith, hope and love form a distinct set of theological virtues. The idea of the theological virtues has come under sustained attack both from within Christian thought from the early Reformers and during the European Enlightenment. The conference explored how theological virtues have fared in modernity in the wake of these challenges.
