Myra Lowe retires from Libraries after more than 40 years, celebration planned

Myra Lowe

Myra Lowe, associate dean of WVU Libraries, retired June 30 after more than 40 years of service. Join us for a celebration in her honor Friday (July 14) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Milano Reading Room, Charles C. Wise, Jr. Library.

Lowe joined the Libraries as assistant acquisitions librarian in 1972. In 1978, she accepted a position as reference librarian, and in 1989 she was named head of the Reference Department. She was appointed interim dean of Libraries from July 1998 to June 1999.  After serving in that capacity, she was named associate dean of Libraries. In 2012, she was asked to serve a second term as interim dean, which was completed in early 2014. She then returned to her role as associate dean.

Lowe has played a key role in the development and growth of the WVU Libraries. We hope you will join us in thanking her for her excellent contributions and her many years of devoted service to the Libraries and WVU.
