MyMountaineerCard.wvu.edu will be down Wednesday for upgrade

Student holding ID

MyMountaineerCard.wvu.edu will be down 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday (March 22) while Information Technology Services replaces the tool currently used to make Mountie Bounty deposits. When the work is complete, the system will look and feel slightly different, but will offer the same features as well as some new ones.

After this upgrade, parents must visit wvucard.wvu.edu to make guest deposits and choose the “Parent/Guest Add Mountie Bounty” button. They will need to know their students’ WVU Login username only. Students should not share their passwords with parents, friends or anyone else.

Students may continue to invite parents or others to make deposits on their behalf using the “Ask for Mountie Bounty” button in the new system. Each request will generate a one-time-use link, so parents should not bookmark the link.

Some other advantages of the new system include:

  • Two email receipts are generated with each deposit, one for the recipient and one for the depositor.
  • Users may add any amount of money between $10 and $500, rather than just pre-determined increments.
  • The system now lets you save your credit card number for future use. However, the 3-digit security code will be required for each deposit.
  • The system will generate a list of places where Mountie Bounty can be used.
