WVU Choirs take the stage Sunday for mid-winter concert

Mid-Winter Concert

WVU Choirs will perform at 2 p.m.  Sunday (Feb. 18). The program, led by Dr. Kym Scott, Director of Choral Activities, will feature WVU’s Chamber Singers, Women’s Choir, Men’s Chorus and the West Virginia Community Choir. “This concert features a mix of pieces guaranteed to help you shake that winter frost off your bones,” Scott said. “From classical pieces by Mozart to songs by American music pioneer Aaron Copland and more modern numbers from various regions of the world, there’s a great mix of warmth and joy in this concert.”

The concert will include several pieces that the WVU Chamber Singers will take with them on tour to Ireland in May including the wonderful Mid-Winter Songs by American composer, Morten Lauridsen. The students are excited to share American music with their Irish audiences.

The concert is open to the public and WVU students receive free admission with student ID. General admission tickets can be bought through the WVU Box Office by calling 304.293.SHOW.
