Dr. Mary LeCloux, Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work, received a collaborative grant awarded by the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute, for the project "A Pilot Test of the Ask Suicide Screening Questions Toolkit in two West Virginia Primary Care Practices," in the amount of $40,494. Dr. Mary Ann Maurer of Charleston Area Medical Center and WV School of Medicine is the Co-PI, and Dr. Matthew Weimer of Valley Health Care is a Co-Investigator. The team will pilot test the ASQ toolkit's feasibility and effectiveness at their respective practices at CAMC and Valley Health Care. The goal is to test the effectiveness and feasibility of a universal suicide screening and safety assessment protocol in primary care. The ASQ toolkit was developed by Lisa Horowitz and her team at NIMH.
