WVU wireless users may experience problems during emergency software upgrade

Faculty, staff, students and visitors could have problems using the University’s wireless networks (WVU.Encrypted, WVU.Guest, WVU.Play, eduroam) starting at 2 p.m. today (Feb. 21) while Information Technology Services conducts emergency maintenance. This includes the campuses in Montgomery, Beckley and Keyser.

ITS is working with Cisco to correct a software bug that is creating unusually long delays in verifying WVU Login credentials for Wi-Fi access. Neither ITS nor Cisco is able to estimate how long the software upgrade will take, but we will advise you when the work is complete. You may follow @WVUITServices or “like” WVU Information Technology on Facebook for updates.

Wired connections, meaning desktop computers, won’t be affected by this work.

ITS apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this may create for our faculty, staff, students or visitors.
