Across all West Virginia University School of Nursing campus locations, the 2024 graduates have earned an average 99% first-time pass rate on their National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), the nationwide licensing examination for registered nurses.
The official results from National Council of State Boards of Nursing show the following first-time pass rate results for the WVU School of Nursing’s 2024 graduates of the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs:
- Morgantown Campus ABSN – 100%
- Bridgeport Campus ABSN – 100%
- Beckley Campus BSN – 100%
- Morgantown Campus BSN – 99.18%
- Keyser Campus BSN – 95.83%
“First-time NCLEX pass rates are an important measure of academic excellence among nursing institutions,” said Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor. “Our results showcase the talent of our faculty and the dedication of our students. These graduates are well prepared for successful and rewarding nursing careers both in state and beyond.”
The BSN program is a traditional four-year degree offered on the Beckley, Keyser and Morgantown campus locations of the WVU School of Nursing. The ABSN program, offered on the Bridgeport and Morgantown campuses, is an 18-month accelerated program for current bachelor’s degree holders who wish to become baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses.
“Of the total 197 graduates, 195 of them passed on their first attempt,” said Dr. Brad Phillips, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs. “These pass rates show how well prepared our graduates are to excel in the nursing profession.”
