Beechurst Avenue pedestrian bridge open beginning Monday morning

Pedestrian bridge

The pedestrian bridge across Beechurst Avenue connecting the PRT station to the new Reynolds Hall site will be available for public use beginning Monday morning, Jan. 10.

With the opening of the bridge, crossing guards no longer will be placed at the bottom of Hough Street to assist pedestrians with crossing Beechurst Avenue at the crosswalk; however, the crosswalk will remain open.

Individuals who require Americans with Disability Act accessibility in the area should utilize the crosswalks at Campus Drive or Hough Street and use either the elevator in Hodges Hall or the ramp to the PRT station to access Downtown campus buildings.

Additional ADA access pathways will be available in the area once the Reynolds Hall construction is complete.

The Auxiliary and Business Services team appreciates your patience in the meantime. We also encourage you to visit safety.wvu.edu for additional information on driver and pedestrian safety and more.
