Revised mask, COVID-19 protocols now in effect

students masks classroom

Beginning today (Oct. 21) and through the remainder of the fall semester, individuals in indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear masks in all classrooms, labs or any WVU System facility or building being used as a classroom.

Masks are no longer required – but are strongly encouraged - in other indoor spaces on campus, especially for those who are not vaccinated.

The University continues to support anyone who chooses to wear a mask as an added layer of protection while on campus, particularly in indoor settings as well as outdoors where large groups are gathered.

Please note that students, faculty, staff and visitors may also be required, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask in some clinical and patient care areas of campus where health services are provided.

Masks will continue to be required, regardless of vaccination status, on the PRT and WVU buses through Jan. 18, 2022, under federal guidelines from the Transportation Security Administration.

The University has also dropped the 5-day quarantine requirement following out-of-state travel for all faculty, staff and students.
