The Institute of Water Security and Science welcomes faculty and staff and students to a seminar on the drivers of water-quality response in urban and agricultural watersheds on Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. James S. Webber, hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey's Virginia and West Virginia Water Science Center, will serve as the presenter.
Webber will discuss management practices designed to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus in rivers and streams throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed to improve local water-quality conditions and meet regulatory mandates. He'll also highlight how insights into nutrient sources and transport can inform watershed management.
