WVU Bookstore Mountainlair, Evansdale Crossing and Health Sciences locations closed; enhancing online services

campus

Throughout the past several weeks, the West Virginia University Bookstores and the Health Sciences Bookstore have taken several proactive steps (e.g., wiping down counters, door handles, equipment and other frequently touched surfaces) to protect our customers and employees against the potential spread of COVID-19.

However, to further protect the safety and well-being of our customers and staff, our physical store locations at the Mountainlair, Evansdale Crossing and Health Sciences will be closed until further notice.

Most bookstore services, such as buying books for summer classes, returning rentals and ordering school spirit products, are still available online with free-shipping options. Orders can be placed through wvu.bncollege.com.

Further, staying true to our mission of supporting student success, we have joined with VitalSource to provide free access to digital textbooks through the remainder of the spring 2020 semester.

To get started, students should visit bookshelf.vitalsource.com. Before students can begin searching for and reading e-books, they will need to log in or create a Bookshelf account with their WVU email address.

Students also can begin ordering books for summer classes on the bookstore websites, and we will fulfill these orders as inventory becomes available. Many textbooks also are available for instant download in digital format.

Spring textbook rentals are due back to the bookstores on Friday, May 8. Students can retrieve a free shipping label to ship any rented textbooks back to the bookstore at wvu.bncollege.com/shop/wvu/page/rental-book-return.

All students who rented textbooks will receive reminder email messages about when their books are due. The messages will include links to the shipping return process.

Textbook buyback typically is an in-person process. We are exploring options and will provide an update when an alternative process is determined.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience, understanding and continued patronage during these unusual circumstances. Visit the West Virginia University Bookstores and Health Sciences Bookstore websites for the latest news and information.
