TLC’s Peer Support of Teaching Program

The Teaching and Learning Commons announces the Peer Support of Teaching program which is designed to help instructors become more reflective teachers and enhance their teaching and learning based on individual goals.

This program pairs instructor colleagues to work together, share ideas, learn from one another, build skills, and potentially address challenges related to teaching and learning. Peer Support can occur in a variety of ways and is customized to the applicant’s needs. It is not an evaluation or remediation program.

“It was great to have an independent evaluator of my teaching,” said Brenden McNeil, Associate Professor of Geography at WVU, who has used the Peer Support Program. “My Peer Support Associate went above and beyond what I expected. Her feedback gave me greater confidence in the effectiveness of my current pedagogy as well as helpful suggestions for improvement.”
