Starting in August, the West Virginia Council of International Programs will welcome mid-career professionals from around the globe to spend four months in Morgantown to experience American culture while enjoying West Virginia hospitality.

Since 1970, the Council has coordinated a unique exchange program that provides a chance to enhance professional skills, improve cross-cultural communications and provide insights into American life and society. Participants come from a wide array of backgrounds including academia, social work, industry and business.

WV CIP and WVU will host up to eight participants from all corners of the globe, including Germany, Nigeria, Brazil, and Mexico. A major part of their experience is to live with community members and their families to introduce them to American culture and make them feel at home in West Virginia.

Hosting lasts four weeks beginning this August. Families can sign up for one period or multiple through the fall, with the last period ending in mid-November. If you are interested in hosting, contact our WV CIP account at cip@mail.wvu.edu by July 30 if you are interested in being a host for our international guests.
