Volunteers needed for Operation Move-In

The downtown WVU campus from across the river

You know WVU is more than just a place. It’s a spirit we all share — a network of people who inspire, support and encourage each other.

That’s why we want you as a volunteer during OPERATION MOVE-IN. Help us show the newest members of our WVU family and their guests what the Mountaineer spirit is all about.

Who do we need?

Faculty*, staff* and community members along with students (resident and off-campus students), and student organizations

What will you do?

Volunteer to help kick off Welcome Week as part of OPERATION MOVE-IN. That means helping to unload cars, move items into rooms, answer questions from students and families and serve as the best examples of what it means to be a Mountaineer.

When is it?

Saturday, August 11

Where is it?

Downtown, Sunnyside and Evansdale

Why volunteer?

Other than supporting your Mountaineer community, there are some great perks when volunteering for OPERATION MOVE-IN.

  • Free Welcome Week Move-In T-shirt to wear during the event

  • Access to Welcome Picnics at either the REC or Mountainlair that are set up for residents and families

  • Free snacks and water

  • Feel great helping get the year off to a great start

Complete the application at by Sunday (Aug. 5).
