WVU Hospitals to announce major expansion of WVU Medicine Children’s

Albert L. Wright, Jr., president and CEO, West Virginia University Health System; J. Philip Saul, M.D., executive vice president, WVU Medicine Children’s; Natalie Jefferis, former patient and member of WVU Medicine Children’s Leadership Council; and Gordon Gee, President, West Virginia University will announce a major expansion project and capital campaign for WVU Medicine Children’s at 9 a.m. today (Nov. 16) at the Bruce McClymonds Conference Center, WVU Heart and Vascular Center. WVU Medicine Children’s has more than 17,500 admission and observation cases annually, and its four care units operate at an average daily capacity above 85 percent. The ongoing escalation of cases demands that the facility grow to continue to provide high-quality care.
