The Health Sciences Library will offer a PubMed/PubMed Health workshop in the HSC Learning Center (LC 2) Thursday (Sept. 14) from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Discover how PubMed and PubMed Health can be utilized as effective tools for the research process. Topics include basic searching, searching using the MeSH (Medical Subject Heading) database, creating a personal account using MyNCBI, and locating full text articles. PubMed Health provides information for consumers and clinicians on prevention and treatment of diseases and conditions. Based on systematic reviews of clinical trials, PubMed Health specializes in reviews of clinical effectiveness research, with easy-to-read summaries for consumers as well as full technical reports. Clinical effectiveness research finds answers to the question “What works?” in medical and health care. No previous experience searching PubMed is required.
