With deep sadness, the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design shares the news of Jerald "Jerry" Fletcher's passing.

The professor of resource economics died at home Monday, June 19, after battling cancer.

During his distinguished 28-year career at WVU, Fletcher was founder and director of the Natural Resource Analysis Center and past director of the Division of Resource Management in the Davis College. A campus leader in energy resources, Fletcher also served as director of the Department of Energy funded U.S.-China Energy Center. He was a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and had been a member of the board of directors and chair of the Council of Professional Association on Federal Statistics. In 2015, Fletcher took on management and leadership responsibilities related to the Davis College's research partnership with the West Virginia Natural Resources Conservation Service.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 21 at the Erickson Alumni Center. For more information or to share your memories, visit Jerry's page on the Never Gone website.
