WVU Injury Control Research Center award nominations

On behalf of the WVU Injury Control Research Center Director, Dr. Robert Bossarte, we are opening nominations for three different awards, each described below. As part of our mission, the Education and Training Core of the WVU ICRC would like to recognize excellence in teaching injury and violence prevention among our faculty as well as excellence in injury and violence research among our students.

Excellence in Teaching this award will be bestowed upon a member of the faculty affiliated with the Center who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or mentoring related to injury and violence prevention and control. Nominations for this award can be made by either students or other members of the faculty.

Outstanding Student Research Award this award will be bestowed upon a graduate student who has demonstrated excellence in scholastic activity, academic performance, and overall achievement in research in any area of injury and /or violence prevention and control. The recipient of this award will receive a one-year paid membership to the professional organization of his or her choice, such as the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research.

Student Travel Award – this award will be bestowed upon a graduate student who is travelling to a national conference to present his or her research related to injury and/or violence prevention and control. The recipient of this award will be reimbursed up to $500 for the cost of travel.  Self-nominations will be accepted.
