Meeting of the Minds event to discuss Appalachian poverty

The Mountaineer Health Initiative (formerly the WVU Health Disparities Program) is hosting a Meeting of the Minds event focusing on Appalachian poverty and the negative effects it has on the health of West Virginians. Joyce McConnell, J.D., LL.M., West Virginia University Provost, will moderate this event that will highlight the role WVU can play in finding meaningful solutions to the problem.

Panelists include:

  • Travis Stimeling, Ph.D., WVU College of Creative Arts (Music)
  • David Weissman, M.D., WVU School of Medicine and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
