The National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health at WVU, partnering with Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, will be joined by representatives from RDVIC, WVU Title IX, WELLWVU, and WVU Medicine and our main project, “Women on Wellness” to present

“Be Your Own Healthcare Advocate” World Café today (March 22) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Join us for a series of roundtable discussions about advocating for your healthcare. Topics include:

  • What is the Affordable Care Act and what is free for women?
  • Follow the money: Medicaid expansion and paying your bill
  • Understanding contraception
  • Ask the sexperts: sex education
  • Safe places and resources for victims of sexual or domestic violence
  • Our circle of influence – food

Each discussion will begin every half hour on the half hour, and you choose which table(s) you would like to join. This format allows you to tailor the experience to your interests and needs. You can come for all four hours or only one half hour - it is up to you!

There will be informational tables in addition to the round table discussions, as well as the opportunity to ask questions in between sessions.
